Mgzavrebi is the first finalist of Georgian Cup

One match of Georgian Cup was held today at Tbilisi Olympic Palace. Mgzavrebi easily defeated Delta in the second match of semifinal series and went to the finals. Let us remind you that Kutaisi wins over Titebi in another semifinal series (1:0).

Match started with Mgzavrebi’s advantage and finished so as well. Buba Berishvili’s team lacked Jacob Armstrong due to injury, however, they performed perfectly. Mgzavrebi won the first period 26:11 and they were constantly increasing advantage in the remaining time. Kakha Jintcharadze was unstoppable during the first half, where he scored 23 points.

Mgzavrebi was winning by 20 points for the big break and the difference reached 30 points in the third period, which already meant victory. Berishvili’s team won 92:67 eventually and went to the finals. Jintcharadze led the winners with 25 points. Adrian Bowie and Soso Gognadze scored 17-17 points each. Zuka Machaladze was the most effective with 15 points and 12 rebounds in Delta. Otar Pkhakadze scored 17 points.

Second semifinal will be held on April 23, 17:30 at Tbilisi Olympic Palace: Titebi will host Kutaisi.
