Olimpi climbed to the 4th place in the standings

One of the Super League matches was hosted by Batumi on Tuesday. Olimpi Tbilisi arrived in Adjara to play, which started the championship unsuccessfully, but improved the results after changing the head coach. The Olympians had 5 losses after 6 rounds, when Davit Rogava replaced  Dmitri Jacobov as a head coach, and since then the team has won 3 of 4 matches.

Batumi started the match well. After the first period, the hosts coached by Gia Kazanjiani were winning 22:21, however, with team play and quick counterattacks, Olimpi sorted out the game and managed to gain an important advantage. After winning the period 24:15, the guests went to the big break with an 8-point lead and did not drop the pace in the second half as well.

Batumians were trying their best and reducing the difference to the minimum periodically, however, the hosts were unable to stop the Olympians, who were aiming to win and, most importantly, were playing thoughtfully. Eventually, Rogava’s team won 88:78 (Statistics) and climbed up to the standings. As for Batumi, they lost for the fifth time in the last 6 games and are on the 7th place with 3 victories.

The next 2 matches of the Super League will be held on December 30 at the Olympic Palace: Tskhum-Apkhazeti – Rustavi 12:00, Titebi – Kutaisi 14:30.
