Batumi won in Rustavi and Kutaisi defeated TSU-Hyundai

First round of the Super League continued in regions. Rustavi hosted Batumi and TSU-Hyundai went to play with local team in Kutaisi.

Match held in Rustavi was more tense and interesting. Rustavians started with 12:4 advantage, but Batumi tied the game due to defense and after losing the first period by 16:19, they won the second one 24:18 and gained 3-points leadership before the big break. Game continued equally. Batumians were able to maintain the leadership, however, they couldn’t gain an important advantage. Guests had 6-points lead before the final minutes, which means the hosts still had chance to equalize the score, but final three-pointer didn’t reach the goal and eventually they lost 73:70.

Stefan Andrejevic led the winners with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Spencer Collins scored 21 points. Jolly was the most effective in Rustavi with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Talley collected 14 points. Isaak Banks had 13 points and 11 rebounds.

In the last match of the first round Kutaisi defeated TSU-Hyundai 80:73. Super League’s debutant gave a decent resistance to the current Vice-Champion and retained the chances before the last minute, but failed to take a decisive step and Kutaisi gained a planned victory.

Akaki Dvalishvili led the winners with 20 points and which is the most interesting, he scored 4 out of 4 three-pointers. De Juan Wright collected 17 points. Giorgi Barbaqadze had 16 points. James Millikan was the most effective in TSU-Hyundai with 19 points and 10 assists. Sandro Sanadze scored 19 points.

The second round of Super League will be held on 16 and 17 November.
