Batumi defeated Kavkasia and advanced in the series

The qualification series for the Super League ticket has started between Batumi and Kavkasia. Batumi has been playing in the Super League for years and this year it has to keep its place, because they took the 10th, penultimate place in regular championship. According to the regulations, the 10th place team will play a qualifying series with the A League finalist until 3 wins and the winner will get a ticket to the Super League.

Batumi has already taken the first step to maintain its place in the Super League. In the first match of the series, which was held on May 4 in Batumi, the Adjara team won with a convincing difference – 93:79 (statistics) and advanced 1:0 in the series. Kavkasia trained by Beka Tsivtsivadze fought, but eventually lost to Batumi, which obviously has more experience.

Antwain Johnson led the winners with 27 points. Beka Bekauri scored 10 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists. A youngster – Giorgi Ochkhikidze collected 13 points. Shannon Fawler was the most effective in Kavkasia with 20 points. Tato Zuzadze scored 14 points. Markese Mayfield had 12 points and 8 rbeounds.
