Second semifinalist of the Superleague was revealed today. Current champion – Dinamo defeated debutant TSU-Hyundai 78:74 and won the quarterfinal series 3:1. Irakli Khoshtaria’s team finished a regular championship on the 5th place, after TSU. However, we saw different fight in playoffs. Dinamo played quarterfinal series at the highest level and lost just one match.
Koshtaria’s team was losing for a while but than they managed to gather forces and tie the game. TSU-Hyundai won the first period 20:13. They had a leadership for the big break as well – 42:34. But the situation changed cardinally in the third period. Demagoj Bubalo obviously beat Ratko Petric in free throws. Jordan Swopshire was very effective behind the arc and scored some very important balls.
Accordingly, Dinamo won the third period 27:15 and advanced by 4 points before the final quarter. TSU-Hyundai’s players did their best in the final period, but Dinamo didn’t give up leadership. They brought it to the end and achieved their goal.
Jordan Swopshire led the winners with 22 points. Reger Dowell scored 18 points. Demagoj Bubalo collected 17 points and 16 rebounds. James Milliken was the most effective with 23 points in TSU-Hyundai. Marcus Posley scored 14 points while Sandro Sanadze had 11.
Dinamo went to semifinals and they are waiting for a rival from the series between Kutaisi and Titebi. Where the score is 2:0 in favor of Kutaisi.
