Another basketball Super League match was held in Tbilisi Olympic Palace today, between Olimpi and Cactus. Both teams are in the middle of the standings. In case of victory, Cactus would approach the leaders.
Olimpi won the first period 14:12, but in the second period Cactus tied the game and became leaders. At one point, they raised the difference in score with 7 points, but Olimpi caught up and after the first half, Cactus had only 3-point advantage 35:32. During the third period, Cactus made a loud statement about victory. The American legionaries – Christian Johnson, Terik Bridgeman and Dandre Parks led the team and they won the 3rd period 21:15. Olimpi couldn’t make any major changes, even though they were trying really hard. Finally, Cactus brought the game without tension – 71:66.
Deandre Parks led the winners with 18 points. Terik Bridgeman earned double double – 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Christian Johnson’s score accumulated 15 points. Mark Ogden was the most effective from Olimpi with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Morris Hill collected 16 points.
The next matches of the Super League will be held on December 15th in Rustavi and Kutaisi.

“Of course, I’m satisfied with the result, but not the quality of the game. It was a principle game for us, we played against a very good team. Our team has instability, but we have done well in the last three games and I hope, we will continue steadily.”
Davit Rogava (Olimpi coach):
“Probably, we played the worst game of the season. There were moments, when we were able to change the game fate, but in the last moments we lost the balls and our opponents didn’t forgive that to us. We have the next game with “Mgzavrebi” and we will try to correct the mistakes we had today.”
