Cactus defeated Vera and paired with Rustavi in the semifinal of the Super League

Basketball club Cactus is in the semifinals of the Super League. The team coached by Archil Zhghenti defeated Vera in the 3rd, decisive match of the quarterfinal series with the score 90:77 (Statistics) and took a place in the top four. Cactus gained the lead in the third period, strengthened it in the fourth, and thanks to this they finally won. The first half went on with the advantage of Vera, but the team coached by Davit Gasitashvili did not turn out to have enough experience and strength to win. 

Cactus won thanks to a team game. It does not happen otherwise in basketball, although there are players who have a bigger part in the victory. We can name Anzor Nadiradze from Cactus, who scored the most important three-pointers in the final, decisive period. The 20-year-old player, who is 202 centimeters tall and periodically plays as a center, scored 6 out of 6 three-pointers in the match and 3 of them in the decisive ten minutes. After his effective shooting, Cactus’ advantage reached 15 points and ending the game with the desired scenario was no longer a problem for Zhghenti’s team.

Eventually the match ended in such a way that the situation on the court did not become tense. Anzor Nadiradze led the winners with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Sandro Sanadze collected 18 points. Levan Maskhulia had 15 points. Aaron Parks was the most effective in Vera with 35 points. Givi Baqradze finished the match with 17 points and 8 assists. 

Cactus will face Rustavi in the semifinal series.
