The Olympic Palace hosted the next matches of the Super League. The audience saw the tense struggle between Marneuli “Delta” and “Sokhumi”. Finally the fate of the game was decided in favor of Delta.
This match was very important for both teams, both of them had one victory in the current championship. The match started equally, but then the advantage of Sokhumi was highlighted. Although, the team trained by Mikhail Kobeshavidze was unable to gain a breakthrough advantage, they were constantly ahead.
Sokhumi won the first period with 5 points – 21:16. After winning the 3rd period 26:23, they got 8-point advantage – 63:55 and made a solid statement to win. But in the final quarter Delta was very mobilized and they were able to catch up. Sokhumi lost the ball in the decisive attack and they missed the chance to save the game. Eventually, the game ended 71:68.
Zviad Antadze led the winners with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Deondre Ray scored 16 points, Nicholas Neal had 3 points and 5 assists. Kwan Waller was the most effective in Sokhumi, he had 21 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists, Maizer Revzashvili scored 17 points.
