Vera, which was 10 points behind in the third period, defeated Cactus 80:73

The Saturday games of the 5th round of the Super League are over. Vera, coached by Davit Gasitashvili, defeated Archil Zhghenti’s Cactus and has already gained the 3rd victory in the current championship. Vera showed a great fighting ability and finally won the match, in which they were losing by 10 points in the third period – 80:73 (Statistics).

It was the third period that turned out to be the turning point. After being behind 40:50, Vera won the remaining 7-minute period in the third quarter 20:4 and advanced by 6 points before the last ten minutes. In the mentioned period, Vera played as a team and surpassed the opponent both in the three-second zone and on the perimeter with a good combination.

In the final period, the players of Cactus gathered their strength once again and managed to advance, but only with 1 point and a short time. Vakhtang Qadaria, the captain of Vera, scored some very important points at a crucial moment, thus making Gasitashvili’s team inaccessible.

Vakhtang Qadaria led the winners with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Zac Seljaas scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Darrell Brown had 14 points. Andre Fox became a top-scorer in Cactus with 19 points. Quinterian Mcconico collected 16 points and 12 rebounds. Irakli Sulkhanishvili scored 11 points.
