There are no more undefeated teams in the current Superleague. 3 teams – Dinamo, TSU and Titebi lost for the first time. After Dinamo and TSU, Titebi was defeated in the last match of the 4th round. Lasha Gamkrelidze’s team couldn’t achieve success against Buba Berishvili’s Mgzavrebi. The latter has a new legionnaire – Darell Combs, who turned out quite effective player. He helped his team a lot while gaining their first victory in this season.
The winner of this fast and equal game was unrevealed until the final period. The match was going on with a transitional advantage. Neither of the teams was able to gain an important leadership. Titebi won the first quarter 13:12 and lost the second one – 15:18. Mgzavrebi was winning by 2 points for the big break, but they increased the difference in the third period thanks to the fast attacks and effective defense. The score was 54:50 for the final quarter, in favor of Mgzavrebi.
It was obvious, that more effective and accurate one would gain the victory. Mgzavrebi won an important advantage – 69:60 thanks to American legionnaires – Darell Combs, Taj Spencer and Daniel Duarte, Kote bitsadze was helping them a lot. The team trained by Buba Berishvili, remained its leadership successfully and easily went to the victory – 75:66.
Taj Spencer led the winners with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Daniel Duarte scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Kote Bitsadze contributed 16 points. Darel Combs had 14 points and 5 assists. Nika Metreveli was the most effective with 18 points and 9 rebounds in Mgzavrebi. Tristin Walley scored 13 points and 10 rebounds.
5th round matches of the Superleague will be held on November 8 and 9.
