Olimpi defeated Titebi in overtime

In a tense match, Olimpi beat Titebi and topped the Super League standings until the next match takes place. Olimpi, coached by Davit Rogava, showed a fighting spirit and went to the victory in extra 5 minutes – 91:89 (Statistics).

The meeting went on with a transitional advantage. Initially, Titebi went ahead, but Olimpi improved the game soon and gained an important advantage. Rogava’s team advanced by 11 points in the third period and seemed to break the rival, however, to the praise of Besik Lezhava’s team, it must be said that they managed to mobilize at the most critical moment. With good defense and tactical attacks, Titebi reduced the gap and they were ahead by 5 points 2 minutes before the end of the last match.

Lezhava’s team lacked very little before the victory, but first they missed the opponent’s attack and the difference was reduced to 3 points, then lost the ball in the attack and received an equalizing three-pointer from Kendrick Thompson. In the last seconds, Titebi themselves had to turn the game around, which Akaki Lomouri managed to do with a three-pointer. Eventually, the meeting went to overtime.

Davit Lomidze’s two three-pointers were the most important in overtime, which deprived Titebi of a chance to succeed, and guaranteed victory for Olimpi. Team captain Ilia Londaridze led the winners with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Kakha Jintcharadze became a top-scorer with 19 points. Davit Lomidze collected 13 points. Javion Ogunyemi was the most effective in Titebi with 20 points and 20 rebounds. Isaac Asrat had 16 points and 7 assists. Jordan Robertson scored 15 points.
