Vice-champion of the Superleague – Kutaisi, which took the second place in the previous season, now is on the 1st place in the regular championship. The team trained by Kote Tughushi hosted Olimpi in an opening match of the 16th tour and defeated quite easily- 108:78. Kutaisians are ahead by 5 points so even in case they lose remaining 2 matches, they will still end the regular championship on the first place. Which means, they will start playoffs with a court advantage.
Kutaisi didn’t have trouble in defeating a fighter and ambitious Olimpi. The hosts won all the period convincingly and gained 30-points victory eventually. Jonathan Lee led the winners with 23 points, De Juan Wright scored 18 points, Davit Lomidze had 15 points. Nika Darbaidze was the top scorer in Olimpi with 15 points.
Remaining 4 matches of the 16th tour will be held on April 6 at Tbilisi Olympic Palace.
