The match between TSU-Hyundai and Kutaisi turned out one of the most interesting in the current season. The fate of the match was decided on the last seconds and one of the leaders – Kutaisi became the winner.
TSU-Hyundai defeated Kutaisians a week ago, on Qorqia-Sakandelidze Memorial and today was very close to the victory as well. 4 minutes before the end, the team trained by Nikoloz Cherqezishvili had 9-points leadership over the vice-champions. The score was 79:74 2:20 minutes before the final siren, but they didn’t use a favorable position and the guests managed to advance 82:79 at the last minute.
25 seconds before the end, James Milliken equalized the score with an accurate 3-pointer. But De Juan Wright scored a three-pointer soon after that and advanced his team 85:82. Kutaisians managed to save this score and eventually, gained their 8th victory in the current Superleague.
Jonathan Lee and Akaki Dvalishvili led the winners with 14-14 points each. Terrence Thompson scored double-double – 11 points and 10 rebounds. De Juan Wright had 13 points and 9 rebounds, while Akaki Lomouri scored 12 points. Victor Nickerson was the most effective with 24 points in TSU-Hyundai. James Milliken scored 21 points.
