Rustavi gained its second victory in the Superleague

13th tour of the Superleague started today in Rustavi, where one of the leaders – Dinamo went to play against local team, which is on the last place. Unexpectedly, Rustavians defeated their rivals and gaind second victory in the Superleague, thereby awakening the chance of staying in the top league.

Greek specialist, Georgios Ketselidis achieved his first victory as a head coach of this team. It took 7 matches – 2 of Cup and 5 of the Superleague. In today’s match, Rustavians showed a genuinely fierce spirit, and after leading during the entire game, they didn’t even lose their concentration when Jordan Swopshire has reduced the difference to a minimum with 4 three-pointers.

In the decisive 1 minute, Rustavi had to start over, as just 1 point was left out of 17-points advantage. Kendarrius Hamilton managed to attack effectively and the score became 63:60, but Demagoj Bubalo reduced the difference again.

After that, with the lead of Levan Gogaladze, Rustavians gained 2 more points 65:62, Jordan Swopshire missed a very important three-pointer, after which Levan Gogaladze scored 2/2 free throws. Rustavi gaind a well-deserved victory – 67:62.

Egyptian legionnaire – Ahmed Moawad led the winners with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Kendarrius Hamilton scored 21 points, Levan Gogaladze collected 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Croatian Demagoj Bubalo was the most effective with 15 points and 9 rebounds in Dinamo. Jordan Swopshire scored 4 three-pointers as we’ve mentioned above and added 1 free-throw, 13 points in total.

3 matches of the 13th tour will be held in Tbilisi Olympic Palace on March 16 and Batumi will host a remaining match on March 17, where MIA Acadmy – Titebi will play.
