Rustavi defeated Olimpi in the final tour match

Regular season of the Superleague has ended for Rustavi. The team trained by Georgios Ketselidis hosted Olimpi in the final tour match of the regular championship and defeated by 31 points – 90:59. Olimpi lacked the captain – Revaz Rogava and one of the leaders – Mark Ogden. Rustavians played with more mobilization though and gained the third victory in this season.  

Unfortunately for them, it was a late victory as they took the tenth place in the regular championship which means losing place in the Superleague. Georgios Ketselidis and Rustavian players expressed their gratitude towards their audience – it was the most ineffective season in the history of this team.

As for match, it was not emotional. Rustavians gained leadership from the beginning and Olimpi didn’t manage to change anything. Ahmed Moawad and Kendarius Hamilton led the winners. The former scored 20 points, 14 rebounds and 5 asissts and the latter – 27 points and 11 rebounds. Raggie Baker was the most effective with 24 points in Olimpi. Charles Bennett scored 14 points.

Olimpi is on the 5th place at this moment, however, 4 matches of the final tour is still ahead and it depends on the results, they will either take 6th or 7th place. 1 match of the 18th tour will be held in Kutaisi tomorrow and remaining 3 matches will be hosted by Tbilisi Olympic Palace.
