10th round of the Superleague continues in Tbilisi today. 1st match planned at the Olympic palace is already over. Irakli Khoshtaria’s team – Vera defeated Tskhum-Apkhazeti 78:59.
Tskhum-Apkhazeti, trained by Zviad Antadze started quite well winning the first period 23:18 and leading in the second one as well. However, Vera tied the game before a big break at the expense of good defense. After winning the second quarter 19:11, Vera went to the big break as a leader – 37:34.
Vera set a full control over the match from the third period and increased their advantage to 9 points for the decisive quarter. Tskhumi wasn’t given a chance to save the game in the final period. Vera played so effectively that it increased its leadership to 19 points at the end.
Wendell Lewis led the winners with 20 points and 9 rebounds. The most effective one was Vakhtang Qadaria with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. Beqa Chikviladze collected 17 points and 7 rebounds. Obrey Makalpin was the best in Tskhum-Apkhazeti having 20 points. Giorgi Sharabidze scored 11 points.
Vera took place among the leaders with 5 victories and 4 defeats. As for Tskhum-Apkhazeti, it has hust 3 victories which makes them outsiders. The leaders – TSU and Dinamo will meet in the next match.
