Vera's 4th win in a row turned out to be TSU's 6th loss in a row

Tbilisi State University team has the most unlucky series in the Super League. The team coached by Lekso Lapanashvili, which won 7 out of 10 matches in the first round, lost all six matches in the second round. University suffered the sixth defeat in a row at the Olympic Palace, against Vera – 81:87 (Statistics). 

On the other hand, Vera has a period of ascension. The team is coached by one of its owners and president – Davit Gasitashvili, who won the fourth match in a row after taking over as the head coach of the team. Vera did not do well after the first round and was at the bottom of the standings from round to round, however, after 4 wins in a row, the case was settled and staying in the Super League is almost guaranteed for them.

As in the previous matches, Vera won today’s match at the expense of the fight. Gasitashvili’s team showed a classic example of fighting. Vera first stopped their opponent and eliminated the gap in the beginning and then mobilized their forces after losing 12 points advantage and falling behind by 3 points. Vera won the first half 48:36, but in the third period TSU players played so well that they eliminated this deficit and even advanced by 3 points – 74:71. Giorgi Vakhania equalized the score with a three-pointer at the last second of the third period and the last period started with a tied score.

Exactly in the last minutes, Vera advanced by 5 points. Less than 1 minute remained before the end of the game and when TSU missed a key attack, everything ended in favor of Vera. Bryson Scot led the winners with 29 points and 9 rebounds. Aaron Parks scored 18 points. Joshua Hawley collected 13 points and 11 rebounds. Quentin Dove had 25 points in TSU. Saba Lobjanidze scored 18 points. Richard Caldwell scored 12 points.
