Vera celebrated the debut of the third head coach this season with a victory

In the last match of the 13th round, the principled rivals – Titebi and Vera met. These teams are side by side in the bottom half of the standings and are struggling to get away from the relegation zone.

Vera lacks stability both in results and roster. The team has replaced the most players and coaches this season. Vera already has a third head coach this season.  After Irakli Khoshtaria, the Tbilisi team also parted ways with Levan Patsatsia and in today’s match against Titebi, their head coach was Davit Gasitashvili, one of the founders of the club.

The players who have been replaced by Vera is another topic. Either way, this team does not lack fighting ability and it has convincingly beaten a much more stable team – Titebi. It was more like a one-man show. Vera’s American legionnaire, Bryson Scot is the most extraordinary scorer in the Super League. He can shot the ball from any point and constantly attacks the opponent’s basket. The most interesting thing is that most of his shooting attacks are successful. Today he scored 15 shots out of 19 attempts (13/15 two-pointers, 2/4 three-pointers). Plus 2/4 free-throws and Bryson collected 34 points in total, which turned out to be enough to defeat Titebi.

Titebi coached by Manuchar Markoishvili lacked the main player, Jordon Talley, due to injury. In his absence, another American top scorer, Tylan Birts, failed to succeed. Titebi only won the third period, but that did not help the case. Vera was particularly resilient in the second period, which they won 20:6 and went to the big break with a 20-point lead. In the above-mentioned third period, Titebi only managed to reduce 3 points to the fiercely fighting Vera and met the last quarter with a 17-point difference.

This difference may have been reduced, but not in such scenario as we’ve reviewed above. Vera, trained by Gasitashvili, strengthened their leadership with a fast and aggressive game in attack and gained a 29-point victory – 80:51 (Statistics). It took Bryson Scot an incomplete 26 minutes to collect the 34 points that we’ve mentioned. In most cases, his attacks were conducted by the national team player – Givi Bakradze, who made 13 effective assists (with 7 points). Luka Maziashvili scored 12 points. As for Titebi, Davit Lomidze and Prince Williams were the top-scorers with 12-12 points each. Brendan Aughborns, on the other hand, was the most effective with 11 points and 5 rebounds.
