Cactus won Super League’s second game in a row

Today two more games of the Super League are planed to be hold in Olympic Palace. In the first game of Georgian Championship, Cactus faced Batumi won match by 89:78. It should be noted that Cactus won both games of super league, while their opponent played for the first time in ongoing championship. Instead of regular championship game Batumi have faced Kutaisi for super cup match during previous tour and became the owner of cup named after Nodar Korkia.

 The game between Cactus and Batumi was quite tense. Tbilisi team was able to win the first quarter of the game by 17:13. And Batumi answered opponents by winning second period, 23:25, and teams went to halftime only with 2 points difference in favor of hosts. Play in the third quarter of the game was equal, boh teams were able to score 19 points and only the last period of the match revealed the identity of the winner. Team coached by Irakli Khoshtaria, won 4rth quarter by 30:21 and gained season’s second victory in a row.  

Despite the fact that Batumi had better index of two-pointers, they were able to score 18 out of 37 shots, the main reason of Cactus success was better performed 3 pointers and free throws. Winners scored 11 out of 30 three-pointers and 18 out of 24 free throws, as for their opponent could use only 5 out of 16 three-pointers and 27 out of 27 free throws.  

Ryan Allen with 20 points had best result in Cactus. He spent 34:36 minutes on the court and together with scored points contributed 7 rebounds and 7 assists to his team as well. Together with him, we should distinguish player of National Team, Merab Bokolishvili, who collected 14 points. Nikoloz Gaprindashvili and Beka Lomashvili socred per 12 points as well.

As for Batumi, Kyle Riddle with 21 points was the best scorer of his team. Saba Lobjanidze scored 14 points and 8 rebounds, newly recovered Sandro Sanadze contributed 12 points.

Cactus will play next game against TSU on November 6th, the same day Batumi will host Gurjaani Delta.
