Regional Development Program Continues In Gori

Important projects by Georgian Basketball Federation’s Regional Development Department and the FIBA Youth Development Fund continue to support basketball development in regions of Georgia. Nikoloz Tskitishvili, Vice President of the Georgian Basketball Federation, Shalva Oniani, Head of Regional Development Department, and his assistant, Aleko Petriashvili visited Gori and brought 24 seconds short clock and brand new score board  to newly build sport palace.

This year, Iverioni from Gori is  competing in A League of Georgia.  In order to host games of the tournament it was crucial for them to have modern equipment. Arena with new equipment will host its first A League game on January 23rd where Iverioni will face Orbi. 

Regional Development Department visited Gori last year, during presentation of Iverioni as well. That time, our representatives brought basketball balls, playing jerseys, rims and special glasses to young players. Special whistles, boards were given to coaches. New basketball equipment helped development and popularizing of Basketball in Gori.

Regional Development program will continue to cover whole Georgia in 2023.
