Under the FIBA program, four cities in Georgia received modern basketball scoreboards.

The program for the development of basketball in the regions continues. For the third consecutive year, this program has been implemented by the Georgian Basketball Federation, specifically its Regional Development Department, in cooperation with FIBA, and it aims to equip regions across the country with basketball equipment.
The Vice-President of the Georgian Basketball Federation, Nikoloz Tskitishvili, together with the head of the Regional Development Department, Shalva Onian, and his team, visit various regions and deliver different types of equipment to basketball schools – including game balls, basketball backboards, uniforms, special goggles to improve dribbling for young players, coaching boards for training activities, whistles, and various other accessories.
After providing this equipment, the Georgian Basketball Federation, in agreement with FIBA’s Youth Development Fund, purchased scoreboards, which are gifted to all halls where basketball clubs operate. Many regional halls had already been supplied with modern, standard basketball backboards, and now four additional cities have received this equipment. Federation representatives visited Kutaisi, Kharagauli, Tskaltubo, and Zugdidi to deliver modern scoreboards as gifts.
The newly opened basketball school Level Up in Kutaisi did not previously have a scoreboard, a problem that has now been resolved. As for Kharagauli, Tskaltubo, and Zugdidi, despite active basketball training in these cities, their halls lacked scoreboards, which made hosting official games and tournaments impossible. From now on, these cities and halls will have the opportunity to host basketball matches in full compliance with standards, which is essential and the best way to promote the development of this sport.
The Regional Development Department continues its work and, under the FIBA program, will support all regions of Georgia with all necessary basketball equipment. It is worth noting that over the past three years, all basketball schools in Georgia have received the equipment provided by the FIBA program, and the process of replenishing existing equipment and supplying new, modernized items has been ongoing for quite some time.
