Rustavi broke Cactus in the last minutes

Rustavi hosted the next match of the Super League. Cactus visited Qvemo Qartli and held a big fight with the Rustavi team, but could not win. The team Rustavi, coached by Anatoli Boisa, broke the opponent in the last minutes and with this victory, retained the lead of the Super League.

However, Rustavi started the game effectively and advanced 19:8. Cactus, coached by Archil Zhgenti, soon sorted out the game and significantly reduced the difference before the first break. The hosts were maintaining the lead, but Cactus kept the chance until the end.

Before the start of the third period, the difference in the score was 12 points in favor of the hosts, however, in the third quarter, the Cactus’ fighting ability and relentless game paid off. Zhgenti’s team reduced the gap to a minimum amount, two times (63:64, 73:74), but failed to take a decisive step.

Four and a half minutes before the end of the match, the leadership of Rustavi was only 2 points, which was led to the activation of the hosts and while a tense final was expected, the fight no longer took place. Rezo Chachanidze, Maliek White, Jylan Washington and Gegi Bakradze scored points in a row and less than 2 minutes before the end of the match, Rustavi advanced by 10 points – 89:79. The fate of the match was decided here. The match was easily won by the hosts and the final score was recorded – 94:86 (Statistics).

Mike Davis led the winners with 15 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. White became a top-scorer with 25 points. Gegi Bakradze collected 15 points and 8 rebounds. Jylan Washington had a double-double – 10 points, 12 rebounds. Levan Maskhulia was the most effective in Cactus with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Darrius Williams scored 19 poins. Sandro Sanadze was a top-scorer with 20 points. 

The next matches of the current tour of the Super League will be held on February 27, at the Olympic Palace.
