Tulips Convincingly Defeated Mega

The 2nd tour of the Super League will be held in Tbilisi on this weekend. “Tulips” defeated “Mega” with a convincing difference – 96:69 (statistics) and gained the first victory in championship. Both teams have lost games in the first round of the Super League, and it is clear from the first minutes of the match that both teams were willing for victory.  

It is worth noting that 2 American legionnaires – Deon Joyner and Marcus Gilson – made their debut in Mega. The team coached by Nikoloz Cherkezishvili had the ambition to win, and despite the fact that Mega game started by losing 2:17 – it still had a chance to succeed. Mega’s players couldn’t shoot properly in the beginning, and when improved shooting quality, the difference in the score began to decrease.

After losing by 11:20 in the first period, Mega cut down difference to 2 points – 20:22, after which play became equal. Tulips was taking the lead, but the opponent was on their tail and the difference was only 3 points by the big break. Mega took the lead at the beginning of the third period. The team coached by Cherkezishvili advanced 47:44 with help of Ronnie Rozier and Marcus Gilson. In the remaining time, Tulips performed at high level and they did not leave any chance to the opponent. The team coached by Lezhava won 15:0 in the remaining 6-minute period in the third period and met the last period with a 12-point lead (59:43). Mega was finally broken and the difference in the score was more than 10 points.

Ordane Kanda- played huge role in Tulips victory. He scored 33 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Akaki Lomouri scored 8 three-pointers (current season record) and 26 points in total. Kendrick Thompson collected 16 points and Quentin Davis contributes 14 points to the team. Ronnie Rozier, with 19 points was the best in Megas crew. Marcus Gilson had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
