The 2021-2022 basketball season begins, which will traditionally open with Dudu Dadiani Memorial. The memorial tournament on the name of the tragically deceased vice-president of the National Basketball Federation will start on October 5 at the Tbilisi Olympic Palace, in which 9 teams of the Super League will take part.
The teams divided into 3 groups will play in one round, after which the first place winners will go to the semifinals. The fourth team to complete the semifinals will be the best runner-up. According to the regulations, the teams from one group will not meet each other in the semifinals.
The group stage matches will be held on October 5, 6 and 7. The semi-finals will take place on October 8, and the final match, which will reveal the winner, will take place on October 10 at the Olympic Palace.
Due to the pandemic in the country, the tournament will be held in accordance with the current regulations and Covid-19 protocol, without fans.
