Team of Tbilisi State University is The first finalist of Dudu Dadiani Memorial Tournament .Team coached by Lekso Lapanashvili, Dimitri Tchelidze and Nugzar Cheishvili defeated “Kutaisi” in semi-final, held at Tbilisi Olympic palace. Kote Tugushi’s team, which because of roaster is aimed to win all the tournaments lost game TSU without chance by 95:73(Statistics)
TSU has strong roaster and indeed is very accountable team. Newcomer, Giorgi Tsintsadze contributed a lot to today’s victory. Tsintsadze who is member and record holder of Georgian National Team (He has played 201 games) broke contract with Tunisian “Monastir” and came back to Georgia. He was supposed to play for TSU in last season as well, however during last years Dudu Dadiani Memorial he was seriously injured and had to miss whole season. He still does not have contract with TSU, but as ongoing tournament is friendly competition, according to international rules, Tsintsadze has right to play for Tbilisi State University. Whether point guard of National Team, continues to play for TSU in upcoming season or not, will be decided in near future.
Tsintsadze played for 26 minutes and collected 10 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. In case stays with TSU, his statistics will improve even more, and the Super League will gain an experienced, high-level player in his position. Brian Edvards, who collected 21 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals played at high level as well. Beka Bekauri with 22 points and 9 rebounds was the most vulnerable player. Luka Maziashvili contributed 22 points and 8 assists to Kutaisi and was the most vulnerable player in his team. Jarvis Rey’s Performance should be outlined as well.
TSU is waiting for his opponent and second finalist will be revealed at 19:00 in game between Caucasus and Rustavi.
