The 6th round of the Super League is over and the games will not be held until December 5. A two-week break is due to the national team window. As you are aware, the Georgian national team will hold the World Cup qualifier games against Ukraine and Spain on November 26 and 29. 12 players from the Super League teams have been called to the Georgian national team.
The last match of the round was held in Rustavi, where the current champion hosted Cactus. Both teams had an unfavorable position in the standings – both of them had one victory and, accordingly, Rustavi and Cactus were committed to gain 2 points.
Qvemo Qartli team started the Super League with 3 losses and gained the first victory in the previous round, against the outsider Mega. Rustavi, coached by Anatoli Boisa, met a favorable opponent to win the second one, however, they failed to win at home and now they are in crisis, holding the last place in the standings.
The match was equal in the beginning, but from the second period, Cactus legionnaires became more active. Revaz Rogava also helped them and the guests gained a significant advantage. In the second half, the advantage of the guests exceeded 10 points, but the hosts weren’t able to find resources to save the game and left the match in such a way that it didn’t get tense until the end. Cactus finally won 86:73 (Statistics) and gained the 2nd victory in the Superleague.
Jordan Forbes led the winners with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Andre Fox collected 16 points and 6 rebounds. Revaz Rogava scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Ishmael Hollis was the most effective among the hosts: 18 points and 8 rebounds. Christian Keeling had 17 points.
