Olimpi wins against TSU and advances to the 3rd place

14th round started in Batumi yesterday, continues in Tbilisi today. 1 out of 3 planned matches has finished at Olympic Palace. Team of Tbilisi State University and Olimpi met each other. Match of direct competitors turned out quite tense and interesting, the fate of which was decided at the last minute.

Match was going on with TSU’s advantage, but Olimpi won the final period 26:16 and gained a significant victory – 79:74. Overall the victory of Olimpi was largely conditioned by the excellent game of Kakhaber Jintcharadze, the offensive back of the team. He collected 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. In addition, he Kakha scored a very important three-pointer in the final seconds of match and was also very effective in defense. Holden had 15 points and Revaz Rogava scored 13 points.

Players that where returned from the national team – Giorgi Korsantia and Giorgi Turdziladze led the winners today. Korsantia made 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Turdziladze had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Another candidate of the national team – Sandro Sanadze scored 15 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

With this victory, Olimpi reduced their difference with TSU to 1 point and advanced to the 3rd place in the standings. Batumi is now the leader.
