The 4th round of the Super League is over. In the last match, 2 ambitious teams of the current season – Olimpi and Tskhum-Apkhazeti met each other. Olimpi was in the middle of the standings with 2 wins and 1 loss, on the other hand, Tskhumi had 2 out of 2 victories and in case of success, they would firmly establish their place among the leaders. Despite the rather interesting and tense first half, the fight did not take place. The Olympians coached by Davit Rogava played the strongest third period, winning by 20 points, and decided the fate of the game for themselves – 75:58 (Statistics).
However, Tskhum-Abkhazeti, coached by Irakli Dzidziguri, won the first half quite convincingly – 34:27. The Olympians used the big break quite well and perfectly performed every task on the court that was given to them during the break. The third period and Olimpi’s storm started at the same time. Rogava’s team gained the lead instantly thanks to the quick attacks and long-range shots and left the opponent behind. Olimpi won the mentioned quarter 34:14 and was leading by 13 points before the last period.
Such a game of the opponent was so depressing for Tskhum-Apkhazeti that they could not change anything in the remaining time. Eventually, Olimpi convincingly reached the desired result and joined the leaders of the Super League with 3 victories after 4 rounds. Davit Lomidze led the winners, he scored all three-pointers from 6 attempts, gaining 24 points in total. Luka Kalatozishvili scored 19 points, Ilia Londaridze had 12 points. Giorgi Sharabidze became a top-scorer in Tskhum-Apkhazeti with 14 points. Levan Maskhulia had 12 points and 8 rebounds.
The 5th round matches of the Super League will be held on November 13 and 14, in Tbilisi.
