Kutaisi beat Dinamo and will host the third, decisive match of the series

The third, decisive match has been appointed in the quarterfinal series of the Super League, in which Kutaisi and Dinamo meet. The one who wins the match scheduled for May 9, at 18:00 in Kutaisi Sports Palace, will upgrade to the semifinals. Kutaisi coached by Kote Tughushi defeated Dinamo 94:79 (Statistics) at the Tbilisi Olympic Palace today and equalized the score 1: 1 in the quarterfinal series.

The match turned out to be quite tense. Especially, the first three periods. Kutaisi was leading mostly, they were playing steadily well in both the front and back lines. A pair of Ilia Londaridze and Akaki Dvalishvili were operating under the cover, while Kaheem Ransom, De Juan Wright and Luke Moyer were active on the perimeter. Dinamo gained an advantage after losing the first period 22:31, left the opponent behind – 37:33 and put Kutaisi in front of a difficult task.

Kote Tughushi took a minute break and made replacements on the court. The teams went to the big break evenly, but from the third period, Kutaisi started to strengthen their advantage and coped well with this task. The main threat to Kutaisi from the perimeter was avoided at the expense of proper defense, which made things easier for the Imereti club and the game ended with the desired scenario. The Albanian head coach of Dinamo, Muhammed Tachi, tried many times to change the situation, but he could not succeed. In the decisive period, the Imereti team played flawlessly and finally deservedly won.

Joel Almeida led the winners with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Luke Moyer became a top scorer with 21 points. De Juan Wright scored 14 points. Akaki Dvalishvili had 10 points and 7 rebounds. Michael Edward was the most effective in Dinamo with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Luka Bulashvili was a top-scorer with 18 points. 

As we have mentioned, the third, decisive match of the series will be held on May 9 in Kutaisi.
