The 6th round of the Super League started in the regions today. 2 matches were held in Kutaisi and Batumi, in which the teams at the top of the standings took part. The only undefeated team of the championship Kutaisi hosted the debutant of the Super League Mega and defeated it with a difference of 10 points – 82:72 (Statistics).
The match started with the advantage of the guests, who were slightly leading in the debut minutes. At the end of the period, Kutaisi team gained an advantage and, consequently, a lead and won 20:18. Before the big break, Kutaisi increased the pressure and leadership to 7 points, however, from the third period, Mega tied the game and began to reduce the difference under the leadership of the Legionnaires. In one episode, the guests managed to advance – 54:53, but it turned out to be an alarm signal for Kutaisi, who regained the lead and increased it in the remaining time.
Eventually the meeting ended in such a way that the situation on the court did not become tense. The leader of the Super League gained the planned victory and secured positions in the standings – 5/5 victories. Giorgi Korsantia led the winners with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Otar Pkhakadze and Nikoloz Soselia collected 13-13 points each. Akaki Dvalishvili scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Demonte Flannigan was the most effective in Mega with 27 points and 10 rebounds.
