Rustavi defeated Kutaisi and moved to the second place

One of the central matches of the Super League was held in Rustavi, where the leader of the championship – Kutaisi arrived to play. Today’s victory was very important for Rustavi, as far as they lost previous two matches. Paul Cooper – the center returned to Rustavi and strengthened positions in the paint, which effected on the result.

Rustavians won the match in a tense battle – 86:80. At first, they advanced 10:0, then they increased the difference – 24:6. The hosts were leading in all components: fast breaks,  long range shoots, defense and etc.

Rustavi won the first period 32:17, but the guests became faster and more effective in the second quarter and reduced the difference to 9 points. Rustavians got lots of personal falls, which forced their coach – Ramaz Gogoberishvili to make many rotations. Kutaisi managed to equalize the score in the 4th period, 3 minutes before the final siren – 78:78.

Conclusively, Rustavians’ good defensive game and combinations decided the fate of the match. Adam Blazek led the winners with 30 points. Brian Bernard scored 17 points. Tyrell Nelson had 15 points and 9 rebounds. Revaz Chachanidze and Levan Tsekvava accumulated 8-8 points each. Jonathan Lee was the most effective with 24 points in Kutaisi. Dejuan Wright scored 22 points.
