The current champion Rustavi returns to its old shape. After many losses, the Qvemo Qartli team gained a significant victory. Rustavi, coached by Anatoli Boisa, defeated one of the favorites Tskhum-Apkhazeti in Tbilisi. Qvemo Qartli was losing by a big difference, but in the second and decisive half they played effectively and won – 93:84 (Statistic).
The advantage of Tskhum-Apkhazeti was obvious in the first half. The team coached by Irakli Dzidziguri advanced with 17 points – 45:28, which was a solid statement for the victory. Qvemo Qartli reduced the gap slightly to 14 points by the end of the first half and went to the big break.
From the third period, everything changed on the court in favor of Rustavi. They strengthened the defense, at the expense of which the way was opened in the attack and they not only reduced the gap, but advanced as well. The guests won the third period 28:11 and met the last quarter as leaders.
Equal fight took place in the final period, although Rustavi held the advantage, they didn’t give up this chance and came to victory. Ishmael Hollis led the winners with 28 points, while Christian Keeling and Luwane Pipkins had 16-16 points each. Tyler Green was the most effective in Tskhum-Apkhazeti with 19 points. Alexander Peacock scored 16 points.
