Second tour of the Super League is over. TSU could not revanche TSU debutant of georgian championship and lost game against them once again. Firstly they were defeated by opponent on October 19th, in final of Dudu Dadiani Memorial tournament. TSU was planning to revanche Caucasus in Super League however could not the opponent once again.
The main reason causing the loss was incomplete roaster – due to various reasons team of Tbilisi state university was missing 4 players – Nodar Gogodze, Giorgi Tsintsadze, Ivane Megeneishvili and Luka Mamlikidze. One of the leading Caucasian Player Levan Kvartskhava was also missing and team of Beka Tsivtsivadze could not gain easy victory. TSU, which was loosing almost during whole game fought till the end, remaining chance to win the game till the last minutes before the final buzzer. Nikoloz Gaprindashvili scored Caucasians decisive three-pointer and after recovering from injury, together with Levan Gogichaishvili contributed a lot to team’s victory.
Legionnaires of the Caucasus, Kris Macnill and Justin Forrest who are the moving force of the team should be distinguished as well. Aizia Thomas scored only 2 points, however collected 11 rebounds and together with Ilia Londaridze helped Caucasians from under the rim. Game was finished by 71:61 (Statistics). That’s interesting result as TSU defeated Delta with exact same score in previous tour of the championship.
From November 4th Super League will be continued in regions as well. Olimpi will visit Kutaisi on November 4th. Rustavi will host Mega on October 5th, and Delta will visit Batumi on November 6th. Other 2 games of the tour will be held in Tbilisi on November 6th as well.
