The 3rd round of the Super League ended with the match between Tskhum-Apkhazeti and Titebi. The fate of the match was decided in favor of Tskhumi at the last minute. They won the match with a small advantage – 74:71 (Statistics) and are undefeated in the Super League.
Only 3 teams enjoy the status of undefeated team. TSU, the leader of the Super League, and Kutaisi, which is following in its footsteps, did not taste the loss, just as Tskhum-Apkhazeti. Tskhumi, trained by Irakli Dzidziguri, managed to mobilize and come to victory despite losing the 3rd period with Titebi.
The fate of the match was really decided by one episode. 33 seconds before the end of the match, Titebi was losing by 1 point and was attacking. Isaac Asrat received the ball from the side line, passed it to team’s leader Jordan Robertson, and the latter started with traveling, took more than 2 steps without the ball being dribbled. The ball was passed to Tskhum-Apkhazeti, whose back liner Tyler Green missed the ball from a medium distance in the return attack. Tskhumi was saved by Giorgi Sharabidze, who rebounded the ball missed by his teammate and placed it in the basket – 74:71.
Titebi had 6 seconds left to save the game, during which Isaac Asrat managed to shoot a three-pointer, but missed it and the match was won by Tskhumi. Alex Peacock led the winners with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Nika Chechelashvili and Tyler Green scored 10-10 points each. Javion Ogunyemi was the most effective in Titebi with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Jordan Robertson became a top scorer – 28 points.
