Tskhum-Apkhazeti stopped 4-match losing streak

In the next match of the 9th round of the Super League, one of the leaders – TSU lost. The university team, which had only 1 loss in the current Super League, met Tskhum-Apkhazeti and lost. The latter had 4 defeats in the previous 4 matches. With this victory, Tskhum-Apkhazeti ended the losing streak and relatively improved the situation in the standings.

After an equal first period, Tskhumi gained an advantage. The team trained by Irakli Dzidziguri lacked the center Giorgi Sharabidze, however, from the perimeter and with the fast breaks, Tskhumi still managed to advance 19:11 and went to the big break with a 9-point advantage. A guard – Marquill Smith made his debut in the ranks of Tskhumi and played very productively. 

The situation on the court did not change after the big break. The players of Tskhum-Apkhazeti increased their speed, one of the main weapons of TSU – long shots were not lucky and Dzidziguri’s team advanced even more in the third period. In the final quarter, the leadership of Tskhum-Apkhazeti reached 17 points, 5 minutes before the end of the game, and the university team players had neither time nor strength to save the match.

Eventually, 79:68 (Statistics) in favor of Tskhum-Apkhazeti, in which a big contribution was made by Marquill Smith, who had 17 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Alexander Peacock scored 13 points, Tyler Green had 12. Ryle Owens was the most effective in TSU with 17 points, Nika Darbaidze had 14 points, Lovell Cabbil collected 13.
