The next round of the Super League has ended in Rustavi. On Thursday, after 4 matches held at the Tbilisi Olympic Palace, the last match of the tour was held in Qvemo Qartli, where Adjara team visited Rustavi.
Rustavi needed to win like an air. Qvemo Qartli coached by Anatol Boisa, was at the bottom of the standings, which was unsuitable for the current champion. Rustavi had 6 losses with 4 wins and was in the 9th position, its rival Batumi, however, had better situation with 5-5 wins and losses.
Adjara team met the match with 2 new legionnaires, who do not look like bad players at all, but need more experience to play together. De Angelo Stewart showed the best result among Batumi players with 20 points and rebounds. While Kyle Riddley scored 11 points. It did not turn out to be enough for success. Rustavi played better in all components and did not keep the opponent close.
The hosts won the first period 23:16, after which they increased the advantage. Only the last period ended in a draw, before that the players of Rustavi completely outscored the guests. The game went on and ended in such a way that the difference in the score was solid and there was no tension on the court. Rustavi finally won 79:64 (Statistics) and with 5 wins and 6 losses equaled 3 more teams with similar results – Titebi, Mega and today’s rival Batumi.
Christian Keeling led the winners with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Mikheil Chochua collected 19 points. Raheem Johnson had 13 points. We’ve already mentioned Batumi’s most effective player – Stewart, after which Beqa Beqauri had the best results – 12 points and 7 rebounds. Kyle Riddley and Spencer Collins had 11-11 points each.
