The 4th round of the Super League, which started yesterday in the regions, continues in the capital today. The first of 3 matches scheduled for today at the Tbilisi Olympic Palace is over. The confrontation between the basketball clubs – Mega and Vera ended with the victory of the latter – 95:82 (Statistics).
The match started evenly and by the middle of the second period neither team was able to gain an important advantage. But then Vera took a big advantage, which was mainly the result of their good defense. Mega players weren’t able to break through the opponent’s defense barrier, while Vera was increasing the advantage with fast attacks and effective shots, their leadership reached 15 points.
For the big break, Mega slightly reduced the gap to 11 points, however, from the third quarter, Vera regained the advantage of the game and the result was not delayed. The difference in the score increased again and the match ended in such a way that the situation on the court did not become tense. Vera players played prudently and led their team to victory without any problems. The team coached by Davit Gasitashvili gained the second victory in the Super League and now both Vera and Mega have 2-2 win-loss.
Darrell Brown held his best match of the season, scoring 28 points. 25 points were scored by the team captain Vakhtang Qadaria, who returned to the court after missing 3 matches due to injury. Zac Seljaas had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Demonte Flannigan was the most effective in Mega with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Otar Buliava and Djimon Henson scored 15-15 points each.
