The 5th round of the Super League continues in Tbilisi. Vera and Tskhim-Apkhazeti met in the next match. Vera, coached by Davit Gasitashvili, gained an important victory – 91:86 (Statistics) and strengthened the leadership in the standings even more.
Vera started the season with a victory over Batumi, but then suffered 2 defeats and found itself in the outsiders. When captain and leader Vakhtang Qadaria returned to Gasitashvili’s team after injury, Vera won 3 matches in a row and secured the 3rd place in the standings.
Tskhum-Apkhazeti has a solid roster and doesn’t lack ambitions as well. Irakli Dzidziguri’s team was among the leaders with 3 wins and 1 loss and the victory over Vera would strengthen their positions, however, Gasitashvili’s team played well and deservedly won.
Vera lost the first period by 3 points, but then took the lead throughout the game. Vakhtang Qadaria played brilliantly, scoring 21 points. Qadaria averages 22.8 points, which is a solid result for a veteran basketball player. The best result among Vera players was recorded by Zac Seljaas, who scored 25 points and 14 rebounds. Levan Maskhulia was the most effective in Tskhum-Apkhazeti with 18 points. Nika Chechelashvili and Luka Maziashvili scored 13-13 points each.
