Head Coaches of All Three Junior NBA League Winning Teams to Attend FIBA Seminar: Get Together

The Georgian Basketball National Federation is sending another group of coaches to international coaching seminars. This time, it involves a seminar for specialists working with children under the age of 14 — the FIBA Europe U14 Get-Together, which will be hosted by the Estonian capital, Tallinn, from October 9 to 11.

This marks the fourth consecutive seminar in which Georgian coaches will participate. Last year, the event was held in the Kosovan capital, Pristina, where Irakli Jankhoteli and Nika Sologhashvili represented Georgia.

Including the head coaches of the winning Junior NBA League teams in this project was an initiative by Shalva Oniani, Head of the Regional Development Department at the Basketball Federation, which was supported by the Federation’s President and leadership. It was decided that every year, the winning coaches of the Junior NBA Leagues will attend these FIBA seminars.

Last season, the Junior NBA Georgia tournament was held across three leagues: Rustavi claimed victory in League A, Overtime won League B, and Geo Kings became the champions of League C. Accordingly, the head coaches of these teams — Levan Khmelidze, Giorgi Razmadze, and Bakar Gabisiani — will travel to the Tallinn seminar.

Prior to their departure, the coaches met at the Basketball Federation with Shalva Oniani and Nodar Avalishvili, heads of the Regional Development and Coaches Departments, respectively. They discussed the importance of the upcoming camp and covered organizational details.

Seminar Program and Format
Organized by FIBA Europe and the Estonian Basketball Association, the three-day program includes both theoretical and practical (on-court) clinics, panel discussions, and interactive sessions:

Practical Clinics (FIBA Clinics 1–6): The main portion of the seminar will focus on on-court activities and demonstration workouts, which will take place at the Kalev Sports Hall and the conference hall of the Mövenpick Hotel in Tallinn.

Interactive Sessions and Panel Discussion: Participants will attend a panel discussion with FIBA experts, interactive presentations by representatives of the Estonian Basketball Association and FIBA, as well as Q&A sessions.

The Georgian Basketball Federation actively continues its cooperation with FIBA to ensure Georgian coaches systematically have the opportunity to enhance their qualifications at the international level and apply the shared experience toward the development of Georgian basketball.
