Georgian youth team returns from Vilnius with 3 victories

Georgian team consisting of player born in 2007 returns from first round of Europe Youth League with 3 victories and 2 loses. Team coached by Nika Tsintsadze began European league with winning 3 games in a row however lost 2 other games of the first tour. They have 2 more rounds and 10 games to play, which will be held in upcoming winter and spring. In case of success our team will gain right to compete in playoffs of the championship.

“Georgia 2007” was able to win 2 games on the first day of the tournament. Firstly they defeated Finnish “Honka” by 65:37 (Statistics). Giorgi Chirakadze with 13 points was the best scorer of our team, Giorgi Nikolaev collected 12 points and 8 rebounds.

As for the second game, Georgians faced another Finnish team, “Ura Basket” and lost game by 55:50. Finish player were able to gain their only victory of the tournament against Georgian youth in tense play. 

The last game of the first tour was held today and Georgians played against Lithuanian “Taurage” and lost game by 68:59 (statistics). This time Giorgi Nikolaev had best result scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds in 27 minutes spent on the court. Other players of our team could not score more then 10 points.

Next 5 games of round 2 will be hold on January 12-15 in Latvia and final round will be hosted by Estonia in Tartu.
