Lia Mikiashvili, one of the leaders of the Georgian youth teams, signed a contract with Oklahoma Christian, which competes in the American College League. Let us remind you that last season, Natalia Otkhmezuri successfully competed in the College League, and helped Casper Thunderbird to win the conference “Region IX”.
“She is physically very strong and aggressive center. Mikiashvili plays well on the shield and has a good view of the court,” says the Oklahoma University website.
Lia Mikiashvili competed in the Georgian U-16 and U-18 national teams at the European Championship in 2017. She was the leader of the U-16 team and averaged 10.5 points and 12.2 rebounds. Mikiashvili spent the last season in Dinamo Tbilisi and became the champion of Georgia. She is 18 years old and 190 centimeters tall.
