Kutaisi defeated Vera 132:96
The second round of the Super League has started in Kutaisi. Imereti club, which played a Super Cup match on the day of the first round and defeated Rustavi, started the Super League with an easy victory. Kutaisi coached by Kote Tughushi hosted Vera and defeated it with a difference of 36 points. Tbilisi team scored 96 points in this match, which is a lot for a basketball match in general, but Kutaisi scored a lot more – 132 points and made this match memorable.
The first period came out relatively equal, which the hosts won 33:30. From the second quarter, the advantage of Kutaisi became clear. Imereti team won the quarter 33:18 and went to a big break with an 18-point handicap. Vera had a third period to turn the game around, however, it was again dictated by Kutaisi and the fate of the match was decided well before the final siren.
The best among the winners was Giorgi Korsantia, a member of the national team, who scored 32 points and 12 rebounds. Otar Pkhakadze had 21 points and 10 assists. Young Nikoloz Soselia played one of the best matches of his career in Kutaisi – 19 points, 4 rebounds. Darrell Brown was the most effective in Vera with 25 points and 8 assists. Zac Seljaas scored 22 points.
2 matches of the 2nd round of the Super League will be held on October 23. Mega will meet Titebi in Tbilisi, and Batumi will host Dinamo.
