Batumi beats Dinamo and takes 7th place

Remaining 3 tours of the Superleague should reveal the team, which will play in A-League next season and the one which will hold qualifying series with the finalist of A-League. It will definitely not be Batumi who defeated Dinamo at Tbilisi Olympic Palace today and almost reached its goal to stay in the Superleague, not officially though. There are some theoretical chances for them to get in the qualifying series.

Batumi lost the first period – 19:28 and faced the threat to lose. However, they managed to tie the situation in the second quarter. Thanks to good defensive game and fast attacks, they reduced the difference to 6 points before the big break and continued playing successfully in the third period as well.

All was decided in the final quarter. Batumians played it more productively. Levan Eliadze’s effective game is distinctive, he scored double-double. Eventually, Batumi won 80:73 and took the 7th place in the standings with 7 victories and 9 defeates after 16 tours.

Kasey Shepherd led the winners with 16 points. Nodar Tenieshvili scored 15 points. Eliadze had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Swopshire was the most effective with 19 points and 11 rebounds in Dinamo.
