Dinamo beats Batumi at the last seconds – 81:79

Second round of the crrent Sperleague started today at Tbilisi Olympic Palace. Dinamo Tbilisi and Batumi played in the first match. This meeting turns out to be the most tense and interesting match in this season so far. The winner was revealed at the last second. Dinamo’s player – Kevin O’Brian scored a successful ball with the final siren and advanced his team – 81:79.

However, the match was going on with a transient advantage. Batumi was leading in the first 2 quarters. Their leadership reached 11 points – 35:24 in the middle of the second period. But Dinamo managed to tie the game and they reduced the difference to 3 points – 33:36 for the big break.

The hosts continued a successful play and gained an important advantage thanks to the effectiveness of Luka Bulashvili, Tyler Williams and Kevin O’Brian. Dinamo won this period 38:23 and advanced by 12 points before the decisive quarter – 71:59. Batumi didn’t give up though. Kazanjiani’s team increased defensive tactics and managed to win one of the episodes 15:0 after being behind by 15 points – 61:76. After which the score was equalized 4 minutes before the end – 76:76.

After 3 minutes without scored, 1 minute before the final siren, Kevin O’Brian scored 3-pointer and advanced his team, however, Rezo Chachanidze equalized the score again – 79:79 3 seconds before the end. Dinamo took a one-minute break and Muhammed Tachi gave his team directions, which they fulfilled well. Eventally, Dinamo gained its second victory in the current Superleague.

Tyler Williams led the winners with 22 points and 10 rebounds. O’Brian contributed 16 points and 9 rebounds. Luka Bulashvili scored 18 points and 7 assists. Junious Prowell was the most effective with 21 points in Batumi. Nikola Vujovic scored 17 points and 12 rebounds.
