The Olympic Palace hosted the next matches of the Super League. Dinamo, the leader with the lost points, met Cactus and defeated with 7 points difference 94:87.
The game started with the convincing advantage of Dinamo, though lately Cactus improved the game and the situation became tense. One of the reasons for this was that two players of Dinamo – Giorgi Sharabidze and Ilia Londaridze fouled out of the game.
Before the last period, Dinamo was winning with 16 points advantage, but Terik Bridgeman and Davit Lomidze managed to reduce the difference to 5 points. The last two minutes of the match had lasted long – the teams were taking minute breaks – Dinamo tried to keep the leading position and Cactus tried to catch up. Finally, Dinamo gained victory.
Mikheil Berishvili led the winners with 22 points and 6 assists, Kiel Turpin accumulated 21 points and 12 rebounds, Lavell Boyd scored 13 points. The most effective player from Cactus was Terik Bridgeman with 24 points, Davit Lomidze scored 20 points.
Irakli Khoshtaria, (Dinamo head coach):
“Some of the players were injured. Giorgi Sharabidze and Ilia Londaridze committed five personal fouls and left the game. We had to change the position of several players, but it’s a game and we have to be ready for everything. At this stage, we managed to win and now we will prepare for the last meeting of the year.”
Archil Zhgenti (Cactus head coach):
“We played with the strongest team. We have done, what we could, but the stronger won. I congratulate Dinamo. As for our game, we made a lot of mistakes in defense and we will try to improve it.”
