Kaspi arena received a new basketball scoreboard from the federation.

Kaspi’s “Griffin” will host TSU, last year’s tournament champion, on January 22 in the Round of 16 of the Georgian Cup. The Kaspi team is a debutant in every competition it participates in, as it was founded only three months ago. Despite this, the team has already earned the right to play in the A League and, with two wins out of two in this tournament, is among the leaders.

However, this article is not dedicated to the Kaspi team itself – it merely highlights how motivated and committed people in this region are, and how much they deserve attention, which they are indeed receiving from the Georgian Basketball Federation.

As part of the cooperation with the FIBA Youth Development Fund, the Regional Development Department of the Georgian Basketball Federation made another visit to Kaspi. The Vice President of the Georgian Basketball Federation, Nikoloz Tskitishvili, along with the Head of the Regional Development Department, Shalva Oniani, and his colleagues – Aleko Pertiashvili, Irakli Pertaia, and Mate Anthia – visited the Kaspi Sports Hall and handed over a new scoreboard purchased with funding received from the FIBA Fund.

The guests from the Federation were welcomed by Zurab Kopadze, Deputy Mayor of Kaspi; Vazha Simonishvili, manager of the club “Griffins”; the team’s players; and coaches from the local basketball school. Representatives of the arena’s technical staff were also present and began installing the scoreboard and 24-second shot clock system immediately upon receiving them.

As for the activities of the Regional Development Department of the Georgian Basketball Federation, the new season began in Kaspi, and visits will continue throughout various regions of Georgia. Within the framework of cooperation with the FIBA Development Fund, every sports hall will receive, as needed, not only scoreboards but also all other essential basketball equipment.
