Winner of Dudu Dadiani Memorial Tournament, Caucasus started Super League season with victory as well. Team coached by Beka Tsivtsivadze faced Mega and defeated opponent in tough game by 90:84(Statistics). Identity of the winner was revealed at the last minute and before game was very close.
Caucasus won the first period by 32:21 however Mega coached by Nikoloz Cherkezishvili was able to overcome opponent and leader of the game was changed before the halftime. With help of American Ronnie Reaussie, Mega won second quarter by 23:11 and was taking lead by 34:33.
Mega continued successful game after halftime as well and was taking lead by 11 points by the end of 3rd quarter. Caucasians were obliged to strengthen defense and focus on quick attacks. Meanwhile Caucasians shooter Kris Macnill started to score from long and short distances and scored was tied by the end of the last quarter again. On the last minute before the final buzzer legionaries Justin Forest and Kris Macnill scored 3 pointers and eventually won the game.
The most vulnerable player of the Caucasians was Aizia Wiles who scored 10 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Kris Macnill with 22 points Became the best scorer. As for Mega, Roni Reausie with 32 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds became the most vulnerable player of his team. Nika Chechelashvili collected 17 points and Otar Buliava contributed 15 points to his team.
