The sixth victory in a row for Olimpi and the fourth defeat in a row for TSU

The next round of the Super League, which started yesterday in Kutaisi, continues today in Tbilisi. The first of 3 matches scheduled at the Olympic Palace is over. TSU faced Olympus and lost with a difference of 10 points – 68:79 (Statistics). The teams met today’s confrontation with significantly different statistics and moods: TSU lost the last three matches, and Olimpi met the match with the students with five victories in a row, doubly confident and continued successful series this time as well –  finished the principled match in its favor and strengthened positions in the standings.

Olimpi won the first period 22:17 and generally made the students be in the role of a follower during the whole match. TSU’s leaders weren’t at their best and unfortunately, the substitutes weren’t able to fill up this gap either. Moreover, the three periods of the match ended in such a way that no basketball player had a single point except for the top five players, which is obviously a serious problem and was logically reflected in the outcome of the match.

TSU met the final quarter with 13-points backwardness (43:56,) which is not an insurmountable gap at all, TSU players were able to minimize mistakes and get back into the game at a glance, but Olimpi still brought the case to the end and gained a very important victory.

Donovan Smith led the winners with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Devante Foster collected 11 points and 13 rebounds. Kenrick Thompson had 16 and Otar Pkhakadze had 15 points. Mikheil Chochua was a top-scorer with 20 points. Brandon Sly scored 16 points and 10 rebounds.
