Georgian participants of the FIBA Europe program Timeout 2.0

In MIES (Switzerland) FIBA Europe’s TIME-OUT 2.0 project celebrated its successful participants with a graduation ceremony at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball on Friday.

The project consisted of three parts: with 47 graduates in the section dedicated to active and retired players. WiLEAD, an all-female group of National Federation members to promote Women in Leadership, had 30 participants while a further 30 National Federation members participated in SWISH and took part in Integrity Officer training.

Each direction of the program was quite long, where the representatives of our country took part and successfully completed the training course of the program.

Manuchar Markoishvili, a former player of the Georgian national team, took part in the section dedicated to further planning and development of the careers of active and former players. Women in GLeadership, which aims to increase women’s involvement in sports, was attended by Nino Guruli, Head of the Marketing Department of the National Basketball Federation and Shalva Oniani, the manager of the Georgian youth national teams, was involved in the Integrity Officer training section, which aimed at preventing match-fixing, anti-doping and violence in sports.

All three Georgian participants of the program were awarded FIBA certificates at a special graduation ceremony held in Switzerland.
