Kutaisi defeated Rustavi in a tense fight and will play in the finals
Kutaisi 2010 defeated Rustavi 85:79 in the 5th and the decisive match of the semi-final series. Dinamo and Kutaisi have been playing against each other in the finals for the last 3 years.
After the dramatic stories in the series, it came to the 5th and decisive match, which was hosted by the main city of Imereti. After losing 1:2, Kutaisi players managed to equalize the score in the series and had a great chance to get their finals ticket in front of their fans. They were leading during the whole game and finally gained a deserved victory.
Rustavians fought until the end. The score was 65:79 in the middle of the 4th quarter, but Rustavi players managed to reduce the difference to 2 points – 77:79. But eventually, Giorgi Barbaqadze scored a three-pointer and 3 penalties. The score became 85:79 and the fate of the match was decided.
Akaki Dvalishvili led the winners with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Dejuan Wright scored 18 points and 9 assists. Giorgi Barbaqadze finished the match with 13 points. Tyrell Nelson was the most effective with 21 points and 11 rebounds in Rustavi. Tsekvava accumulated 16 points. Adam Blazek scored 13 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds. Craig Osaikhwuwuomwan had a double-double – 10 points and 10 rebounds.
